Vail Resorts Launches New Initiative to Have Less Snow
As the winter season in the Western US has been so dry, we wanted to find out why. We decided to reach out to the CEO of Vail Resorts, and he replied swiftly to our questions.
Why is their less snow this season?
We have recently started a new initiative to have less snow, for a cost cutting measure.
Why is removing snow a cost cutting measure?
Normally, we have to pay anywhere from $50,000,000 to $100,000,000 to Mother Nature for her to snow on our resorts, however we wanted to test how much snow we would have if we cut that down to $5,000,000 to $7,500,000. Unfortunately, this has led to most of our trails having a full snow cover.
Why are you still perpetuating global warming if it causes snow to melt faster?
Global warming is a necessary part of the environment. We normally put roughly 1-2 billion dollars into funding global warming, and due to the cuts, we were able to raise that to 2.75 billion, are largest contribution yet.
